Ever wanted to make contact with a volcano?
Well the month of May, just could be your chance. Between May 2 and May 30, a team from FOTA DX Club Belgium will activate 3 Volcanoes On The Air. Stromboli (Eolian island), the Etna on Sicily and the Vesuvius in Italy (Naples). They will be active in SSB with 35 Watt with an FTDX10 and Ecoflow Power Station and using an ATAS 25 portable vertical antenna. They plan also to be active QRP with an Icom IC-705 and same ATAS 25 Antenna. A special triple gatefold QSL card will be made available to those stations that made contact with all three locations. All QSO’s will be logged under: ID9/OP8L (Stromboli), IT9/OP8L (Etna) and I8/OP8L (Vesuvius). Special QRZ pages for 3 callsigns will be activated in the next few days. They would love some DX spotting from those who make contact.
